Duckwrth

Born in Los Angeles and hailing from the southern part of the city, Duckwrth, real name Jared Leonardo Lee, has since the early 2010s been developing a project at the crossroads of hip-hop, R&B and an alternative pop nourished by funk, soul and, at times, dance-inflected accents. After early self-released tracks and appearances in online cyphers, Duckwrth began broadening his audience with Ducktape in 2012, Taxfree V.1 in 2014, then the project Nowhere, released in 2015 with The Kickdrums. His first album, I'm Uugly, came out in 2016, followed by An Xtra Uugly Mixtape in 2017, where a more melodic, flexible writing style between rap and singing takes shape. The rest of his journey shows a moving aesthetic, with the EP The Falling Man in 2019, the album SuperGood in 2020, then SG8* in 2021 and Chrome Bull in 2022, which pushes further toward electronic textures and a more frontal groove. Duckwrth moves between rap, R&B and alternative scenes, while collaborating with artists from neighboring horizons such as Syd, Sabrina Claudio, Shaboozey or Kiana Ledé. His music often rests on crisp rhythms, sung choruses and a vocal presence that easily shifts from a percussion-driven flow to looser lines. In 2025, Duckwrth releases All American F*ckBoy.
