Frédéric François
Frédéric François is a Belgian singer, songwriter and producer of Sicilian origin, and a central figure of francophone romantic song. Born in Lercara Friddi, Sicily, and settled in Liège from a very young age, he rose to fame in the early 1970s with a string of popular hits such as Je n’ai jamais aimé comme je t’aime, Laisse-moi vivre ma vie and Mon cœur te dit je t’aime. With his warm voice and sincere charisma, he established himself as the quintessential singer of love, blending passion, melancholy and sensuality. Throughout his career he released many successful albums and performed sold-out tours, building a loyal, cross-generational audience. Frédéric François has managed to cross decades without abandoning his style: unapologetically popular songs carried by melody, romance and steadfast authenticity. More than fifty years after his beginnings, he remains one of the living symbols of francophone love song.
