Elliott Murphy
A leading figure of American rock who has lived in Paris since 1989, Elliott Murphy has moved through the decades with a singular elegance. With a guitar slung over his shoulder and a keen pen, he established from Aquashow in 1973 a style steeped in New York folk-rock, literary poetry and a fevered romanticism that became his trademark. A tireless singer-songwriter, he has released around forty albums and shared the stage with members of the Velvet Underground, the Talking Heads and the Violent Femmes, as well as with Mick Taylor, Phil Collins, Billy Joel and his friend Bruce Springsteen. Immersed in a fully artistic life — between concerts, short stories and novels — he cultivates a charismatic, timeless presence, far from fashions, which appeals to lovers of urban folk, sensitive narratives and literary rock.
