Houle

Formed in Paris in 2021, Houle evolves within melodic black metal nourished by incisive riffs, more atmospheric guitar lines and a constant tension between violence and lyricism. The band develops an imagery centered on the sea and natural powers, with compositions that convey as much tumult as contemplative vertigo, in an aesthetic that crosses the momentum of modern black metal with broader melodies. Houle records its first EP in mid-2022, produced by DNI Studio, the starting point of a project quickly brought to the live scene. This maritime frame, present in both the visual identity and the lyrics, structures the band's trajectory without confining it to a simple narrative motif, and gives Houle a recognizable color within France's recent extreme metal scene. In concert, Houle participates in the circuit of emerging black metal and extreme music bands, with an approach where sonic density remains tied to a legible melodic work.
