Dimash Qudaibergen
Born in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, Dimash Qudaibergen, whose full name is Dinmukhammed Qanatuly Qudaibergen, trained in both classical singing and contemporary music at the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College and then at the National University of Arts of Kazakhstan. His repertoire sits at the crossroads of pop, classical crossover, art music, Kazakh folk, and an internationally oriented stage repertoire, with significant emphasis on vocal virtuosity and orchestral arrangements. After several competitions won in Central Asia in the early 2010s, Dimash Qudaibergen became more widely known in 2015 with the Grand Prix at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, before greatly expanding his audience in China thanks to the show Singer 2017, where he finished second. This exposure marked a lasting turning point in Dimash Qudaibergen's career, who then developed a transnational trajectory between Kazakhstan, China, Europe and the United States, with major tours and arena-format concerts. His discography includes notably the EP Dimash (2016), followed by the album iD (2019). Over the years, he has alternated original songs, multilingual covers, and occasional collaborations with artists such as Igor Krutoy, Lara Fabian or Aida Garifullina, while maintaining a visible anchor in Kazakh culture, notably through the use of traditional melodies and the dombra on stage.
