2120

Formed in Quebec around brothers Maxime and Gabriel Blackburn, joined by Billy St-Onge, 2120 has since the mid-2010s developed a repertoire that crosses Mod Rock, psych-pop and soul with a strong anchoring in an aesthetic inherited from the 1960s and 1970s. Initially launched in Sherbrooke before circulating in cafés and venues in the Mile-End neighborhood of Montréal, the trio built its live identity with songs where guitars, keyboards and a flexible rhythm section dialog with a highly expressive vocal. 2120 refines this identity through its concerts and releases, blending rock energy, R&B grooves and melodic arrangements nourished by retro-pop. The group released in 2022 the album 2120 In Spectacular Physical Health, produced by Jace Lasek, a step that gives a clearer shape to its writing and its studio sound. In the wake of this release, 2120 appears on various stages in Quebec, including the Festival d’été de Québec, and then broadens its itinerary outside Canada with a first series of dates in France in 2024, followed by concerts in Belgium. Between local anchoring and international circulation, 2120 evolves a trio format focused on collective playing, Billy St-Onge's vocal presence and a contemporary reading of psychedelic, soul and rock references.
