The Bill

Formed in Pionki, Poland, in 1986, The Bill is part of the history of Polish punk rock with a direct, melodic and nerve-wracking sound, anchored in the energy of punk from the 1980s and 1990s. The band recorded a first demo in 1989 before releasing the album The Biut in 1993, followed by Początek końca in 1994 and Sex ’n’ Roll in 1995. A new chapter opens with Daję wam ogień, recorded in 1996 but released in 2000, after an initial period of interruption. The Bill splits again in 2001 then resumes activity in 2004, restarting its live and studio career with Niech tańczą aniołowie in 2007, Lekcja historii in 2008, Historie prawdziwe in 2009 and 8siem in 2013. The lineup has undergone several member changes over the years, around Dariusz “Kefir” Śmietanka, and today evolves into a quartet. Present on the Polish punk and rock scenes for several decades, The Bill maintains a songwriting focus on short tracks, sung in Polish, where rhythmic tension, straightforward choruses and a no-nonsense approach intersect. In 2024, The Bill added a new album to its discography with The Kada.
