Rougir

Born in Caen in 2023, Rougir brings together Maela and Colin in a duo that crosses alternative rock, electro, and dark pop. Their music rests on taut guitars, pulsing electronic productions, and a vocal work that alternates between directness, restraint, and choral textures, with writing oriented toward introspective and physically resonant atmospheres. Rougir developed in the Caen ecosystem by being supported by the Pop-Up program of Gare aux Musiques, while going through residency periods at 4F, Norma, and the Cargö, which helped structure their live proposition and their sound. The duo also works with producers Adrien Leprêtre and Yanis Mzari. In terms of discography, Rougir released the single I Wish I Could Like You, the first milestone of a still relatively new project, before announcing Hate. In this form still under construction, Rougir sketches an aesthetic where the impact of rock blends with a continuous electronic tension, without settling into a single register, and gradually asserts its place on current stages dedicated to emerging projects.
