Île de Garde
Trained in Rennes, Île de Garde brings together Klara Coudrais, Morgane Poulain and Cécile Aurégan in a trio that crosses post-punk, coldwave, krautrock and synth-punk in a taut and minimalist format. Klara Coudrais’ spoken or sung voice moves over hypnotic rhythms, while the drums and keyboards establish a dry, repetitive and uneasy atmosphere, between cold tension, synthetic textures and very direct darkness. The project emerged in the mid-2020s and sits within a French scene attentive to the sharpest forms of rock and synthetic music. Île de Garde develops tracks built on repetition, economy of means and disenchanted lyrics, where social observation surfaces without emphasis. The trio released the EP Rage Blossom in 2025 on Born Bad Records, a first discographic landmark that already outlines the contours of its aesthetics: abrasive synth lines, driving pulse, post-punk tension and an almost incantatory vocal presence. Between the heritage of no wave formations and a taste for dark atmospheres, Île de Garde constructs a concise, opaque and tightly wound identity, carried as much by rhythm as by narration.
