The Bones
Formed in Karlskrona, Sweden, The Bones has since 1996 developed a punk rock tinged with hardcore, nourished as much by the energy of Scandinavian punk as by a marked taste for classic rock’n’roll. The band revolves around a quartet whose dynamic rests on direct guitars, gritty choruses and a sense of tempo that sometimes brings The Bones close to frontal punk’n’roll. After a first self-produced EP, The Horrorway, in 1997, The Bones followed with Six Feet Down, Two Fingers Up in 1999, then a first album, Screwed, Blued and Tattooed, in 2000. The discography continues with Bigger than Jesus in 2002, Straight Flush Ghetto in 2004, Burnout Boulevard in 2007, then Monkeys with Guns in 2012 and Flash the Leather in 2015. Over the years, The Bones has also shared releases with other bands on the punk and rock scene, and frequented a European circuit where clubs, punk festivals and broader rock posters intersect. Without moving away from its punk rock core, The Bones has maintained a compact writing style, often driven by dry rhythms and an aesthetic that blends hardcore urgency, street melodies and references to American rock.
