The Peacocks
Formed in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1990, The Peacocks evolve as a trio around Hasu Langhart on vocals and guitar, with Simon Langhart on double bass and, since 2002, Jürg Luder on drums. The band sits at the crossroads of punkabilly, rockabilly and psychobilly, with a fast, melodic and nerve-wracking style that blends the energy of punk, the rhythms of rockabilly and a more pop sensibility in certain vocal lines. After a first EP, Red Sun, in 1993, The Peacocks released several records that mark their journey, among them Come with Us in 1995, In Without Knocking in 1998, Made in Japan in 2000, Angel in 2001, It’s Time For… in 2004, Touch and Go in 2007, After All in 2010, Don’t Ask in 2012, Flamingo in 2017 and And Now What? in 2024. Over the years, The Peacocks have also issued singles, EPs and splits, while changing labels several times depending on the country. Their trajectory has included numerous tours in Europe, North America and Japan, within the punk, rockabilly and psychobilly circuits, where The Peacocks have built a regular presence since the 1990s.
