The Headlines
Formed in Malmö in 2005, The Headlines evolves in melodic and direct punk rock, fed by references to British and American punk, with catchy choruses, taut guitar work and a marked live energy. The Swedish group initially built itself on the European scene, in a register that blends punk urgency, street punk touches and rock'n'roll sensibility, without straying from concise songwriting. The first two albums, Plug n Play in 2007 and Making Love to the City in 2009, were produced with Stry Terrarie, followed by an EP Wake Up in 2011. The Headlines then continued its discography with The Headlines in 2012, Vendetta in 2015, In the End in 2017, Warpaint in 2020, recorded with Chips Kiesbye, and then Homewrecker in 2024. Over the years, The Headlines has played numerous dates in Europe but also in Canada, Japan, China and Russia, sharing bills notably with Millencolin, Danko Jones, Levellers or Broilers. This trajectory has been accompanied by several lineup changes, around a core that stayed active over time, and by regular presence on punk and alternative rock circuits, up to festivals like Rebellion in 2023.
