ear
Formed in 2024 in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, ear brings together Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan around a lo-fi-tinged pop-electronic approach, where indietronica, melodic post-punk, and IDM-inspired textures intersect. The duo takes shape as the two musicians study at Bard College and develop an aesthetic built from restrained vocals, discreet rhythms, fragile synths, and underlying tensions rather than spectacular effects. ear released its first single, 'Nerves,' in 2024, then followed with several releases before its first shows. Their journey continues with dates supporting Yung Lean in Canada, a show at UCLA, and a European tour. ear's discography subsequently centers on The Most Dear and the Future (2025) and then Rumspringa (2026). In this duo format, Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan blend references from British indie pop, experimental electronics, and a DIY sensibility, for a sound that is intimate, jarring, and tightly produced.
