Bassvictim

Formed in London in 2022, Bassvictim brings together Polish‑English singer-songwriter Maria Manow, born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and American‑English producer Ike Clateman. The duo first met on a trip to Berlin while studying at Goldsmiths, then reconnected a few months later within South London's club scene, notably around Peckham Audio — a context that also highlights their urban roots. Bassvictim develops tense, direct electronic music at the crossroads of club forms and an electroclash imaginary, with tight rhythms, abrasive textures and vocal lines that retain a pop dimension without smoothing the whole. After the initial tracks “Canary Wharf Freestyle (feat. Oatmilkandcodeine)” and “L-On-D-On” in 2023, Bassvictim released the EP Basspunk in 2024, followed by Basspunk 2 in 2025. That same year saw the release of the album Forever (2025), the duo’s first full‑length. In 2026 Bassvictim followed with the EP ? and the single “Tato freestyle”, continuing a trajectory linked to the new London electronic scenes and occasional collaborations such as Worldpeace DMT or bod [包家巷].
