Blaue Blume

On the Danish indie scene, Blaue Blume emerged in the early 2010s as a Copenhagen-based quartet centered on vocalist Jonas Smith, guitarist Søren Buhl Lassen, bassist Jonas Scheffler and drummer Bastian Emil Popp. The band blends art pop, indie rock and dream pop, characterized by bright guitars, supple rhythms and a prominent falsetto, with lyrics focused on intimacy, faith, relationships and vulnerability. After several early singles and EPs that established them in the Danish scene, Blaue Blume released the album Syzygy in 2015, dominated by atmospheric textures and carefully crafted melodic constructions. A quieter period preceded 2019’s Bell of Wool, which broadened the group’s aesthetic toward more stripped-down formats, often slower tempos and more spacious production. Blaue Blume has maintained a steady presence on North European venues and festival circuits, alternating intimate shows and larger setups, and has continued issuing singles since Bell of Wool to keep the band active between studio and stage.
