White Flowers

Formed in Preston around Katie Drew and Joey Cobb, the duo White Flowers creates music at the intersection of post-punk, dream pop, shoegaze and a dark, hazy pop. Katie Drew’s voice, the suspended guitars and often slow rhythms give White Flowers a sound that is at once cool, minimal and melodic, built more on atmosphere than on impact. The project emerged on the British indie circuit around 2020, honing its identity with several singles and an EP released that year, before moving on to Tough Love Records. Their debut album, Day By Day, was released in 2022 and was co-produced with Jez Williams, guitarist of Doves, extending the aesthetic by broadening dream-pop textures and post-punk tensions. White Flowers thus belongs to an English scene where coldwave heritage, dreamy indie rock and stripped-down pop songwriting intersect, with a marked taste for nocturnal atmospheres and pared-back forms.
