Midnight Til Morning
Born in front of the cameras on Netflix’s Building the Band, Midnight Til Morning brings together four singer-songwriters — Shane Appell, Zach Newbould, Conor Smith and Mason Watts — from the United States and Australia. The group formed in 2024 during the show, when contestants, asked to “like” one another to create lineups, chose to join forces and solidified that alliance by episode four. Midnight Til Morning’s first in-person meeting centered on a cover of Coldplay’s “Higher Power,” prepared remotely before being performed on stage; the quartet went on to perform songs such as Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes,” Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” Hoobastank’s “The Reason,” and Post Malone’s “Circles,” ultimately finishing fourth in the competition. Rooted in a pop and pop-rock aesthetic, Midnight Til Morning follows a four-voice boy-band format built around vocal harmonies and melodic choruses. Active since 2024 and signed to Chugg Music, the band extends the momentum of the show by developing a transpacific group identity, ranging from pop ballads and mid-tempo tracks to songs geared for live performance.
