Nerlov

Under the name Nerlov, Angers-born musician and songwriter Florent Vincelot develops a French-language song project that blends synthetic pop, electro touches and a cold-wave heritage. After beginnings in a metal band, he became involved in several formations of the independent scene, playing drums with Sheraf (garage psyché), bass with San Carol (pop), and singing alongside rappers such as Rezinsky and the dub collective Zenzile. At the same time, Vincelot ran the VedeTT project for several years—an English-language electro and cold-wave project—before refocusing his songwriting under the Nerlov name to foreground a more intimate, disillusioned register in French. Nerlov’s early EPs and singles establish an aesthetic that mixes introspective narratives, dry irony and straightforward choruses over productions that swing between danceable rhythms and more melancholic atmospheres. Selected by Les Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges in 2022, Nerlov continues this work with a tight-knit team—most notably producer Atom in the studio—while the live configuration relies on Simon Garnier on drums and François L’Haridon on sound, extending the project’s contrasting identity on stage.
