GiGi FM

Having emerged from the underground raves of south London and later establishing herself within Berlin’s electronic scene, GiGi FM has built a practice at the intersection of DJing, production and performance. She develops a sound that sits between techno, bass music and breakbeat, with sets and tracks that articulate rhythmic tension, atmospheric textures and an introspective dimension. As an NTS Radio resident for more than seven years she affirmed a highly personal curatorial approach, nourished by fluid selections and a taste for movements between styles and intensities. Her musical practice also dialogues with her background as a dancer, begun in professional training— notably at the Opéra de Paris and Alvin Ailey— which results in a marked attention to movement and the physicality of sound. GiGi FM has released on labels such as Bambe, Fuse and Ostgut Ton, while cultivating a more intimate space on her own label Sea~rène. In concerts and live formats she also incorporates voice, poetry and scenographic elements; her recent writing opens toward more vocal-led compositions, between liquid drum and bass, pop sensibility and emotional narrative.
