Christophe Mali

Born in Antony in the Hauts-de-Seine, Christophe Mali first pursued a career as an actor before securing a lasting place in francophone music with Tryo, the band he co-founded in 1995, in which he sings and plays guitar, accordion and piano. This dual background in theatre, songwriting and stage work also informs his solo work, built around a French chanson with pop, folk and acoustic shades and a strong oral storytelling sensibility. Mali embarked on a solo path in the mid-2000s with Je vous emmène, released in 2006 and produced by Édith Fambuena, in a more intimate register than his collective activities. Alongside Tryo, he has continued to work regularly on staging and artist support, notably at the Chantier des Francofolies from 2007, where he has served as a stage coach. His activities also extend to musical theatre and stage direction. Returning to a solo project in 2024, Christophe Mali released several new tracks ahead of the album Humain in 2025, including collaborations with Lucie Lebrun and Alain Souchon.
