Célestin

Under the name Célestin, Sébastien Rambaud is developing a project of French chanson located at the crossroads between acoustic and more electronic sounds, with writing focused on human, social and ecological questions. Active in France, Célestin pursues this path in parallel with Fills Monkey, a theatrically staged percussion duo he co-founded and in which he has already built up a solid live experience. His solo repertoire relies on a formula of a multi-instrumentalist singer and on pieces where the chanson opens to pop arrangements, to more contemporary rhythms and to a deliberately mischievous tone. Célestin's lyrics address the intimate as well as the collective, with a taste for simple images and shifts of register, between fantasy, critical gaze and storytelling sense. Across the concerts, in festivals as well as in venues, Célestin evolves a proposal that can also take a more stripped-down form, notably with electricity-free concerts developed from 2024. His discography notably includes the albums Deuxième acte (2012), Laisse entrer le soleil (2017), Mesdames (2022) and Viens avec moi, announced for 2025, which extend this trajectory between singer‑songwriter, pop and a direct stage approach.
