Lera Lynn

Born in Houston in 1984 and raised in Georgia, Lera Lynn has developed a songwriting voice at the crossroads of Americana, indie folk, country and a subdued, melancholic rock. Her music rests on spare arrangements, a deep, measured voice, and a pronounced taste for nocturnal atmospheres. After her debut album Have You Met Lera Lynn in 2011, she refined the format on The Avenues in 2014, then broadened her approach with Resistor in 2016, where her folk writing opened more to indie rock. Her profile rose when she composed and performed several songs for the second season of True Detective in 2015, working with T-Bone Burnett, and later appeared on screen in the series as a recurring singer. Lera Lynn continued with Plays Well With Others (2018), On My Own (2020) and Something More Than Love (2022), maintaining a personal line of stripped-down ballads, subtly electric textures and a narrative sensibility that links her records to her work for film and television.
