Rosalie Cunningham
Emerging from the British psychedelic rock scene, Rosalie Cunningham is a singer‑songwriter and vocalist born in 1990 in Southend‑on‑Sea, England. First noticed in the late 2000s with the London band Ipso Facto, an all‑female psych‑rock outfit, Cunningham early on developed a taste for retro atmospheres, carefully crafted vocal harmonies and extended song structures. She went on to found Purson in the early 2010s, a band in which she developed a blend of psychedelic rock, progressive rock and hard rock with vintage hues, realised on the albums The Circle and the Blue Door (2013) and Desire’s Magic Theatre (2016). After Purson disbanded, Cunningham pursued a solo career, releasing a self‑titled debut in 2019, followed by Two Piece Puzzle in 2022, where psych influences, baroque pop, folk and cabaret touches intersect in detailed arrangements. In parallel to her own projects, she has contributed occasionally to other bands’ recordings—most notably Cathedral—and performs live with a backing band on the rock, psychedelic and progressive circuits in the UK and across Europe.
