The Dark Side of the Moon

Born from a meeting of musicians already active in Feuerschwanz, Amaranthe and Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side of the Moon was formed as a European quartet bringing together Melissa Bonny, Hans Platz, Jenny Diehl and Morten Løwe Sørensen, spanning Switzerland, Germany and Denmark. The project is set in the realm of melodic metal where folk, symphonic and power metal intersect, focusing on reinterpretations of music tied to film, TV series and video games, alongside a few original compositions. Emerging in the early 2020s, the band quickly developed an identity built on dense arrangements, crisp guitars, a driving rhythmic foundation and a prominent role for Melissa Bonny’s voice. After several singles that established this direction, The Dark Side of the Moon released the album Metamorphosis in 2023. The band operates at the crossroads of the European folk metal and symphonic metal scenes, favoring accessible song formats and an aesthetic nourished by the narrative imaginaries of soundtrack music.
