The Howlers

Trained in London around Adam Young, The Howlers evolve in an indie rock register nourished by garage rock, rough blues, and a post-punk tension that has become more evident with each release. The project first drew attention on the British live scene with tracks that sounded direct, tense, and melodic, before releasing several singles and a first album, What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All, published in 2024, subsequently offered in a deluxe edition the same year. The Howlers develop a writing centered on abrasive guitars, dry rhythms, and a rock’n’roll energy that remains legible without tipping into excess, with themes often linked to loss, desire, and power relations. After a phase of reorganization, The Howlers tighten into a duo around Adam Young and drummer Toby Richards, a formation that marks a new cycle in the band's trajectory. In 2025, The Howlers begin this return with the singles “Nightcrawling”, “You Can Be So Cruel” and then “Viper”, while announcing Heavy, their second album planned for 2025. In this new chapter, the London group preserves its indie rock backbone while sharpening a darker, more nervous and impulsive edge, in the continuum of a career built between concerts in the UK, European dates, and working collaborations with Chris Ostler on the production and development of the tracks.
