Os Garotin

Born in São Gonçalo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Os Garotin brings Anchietx, Cupertino and Leo Guima together around a repertoire drawing on soul, R&B and MPB. The trio favors warm textures, vocal harmonies and the energy inherited from the old Brazilian 'bailes black' dance parties. They gained attention in 2023 with the EP Os Garotin Session, their first notable discographic milestone, which features tracks such as Queda Livre, Pouco a Pouco and Zero a Cem. For Os Garotin, melodic songwriting remains central, driven by a supple groove and a collective approach that sets classic references of Brazilian Black music in conversation with more contemporary forms of pop and R&B. This identity was forged between São Gonçalo and Rio’s urban scene and later reached stages like Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro and Casa Natura in São Paulo. In just a few years, Os Garotin has asserted a coherent musical colour rooted in its territory and in a contemporary reading of Lusophone soul.
