Carrellee

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Carrellee develops a darkwave and synth-pop writing style nourished by abrasive synthetic textures, cold rhythms, and a softly sung voice, often placed at the forefront in songs with a nocturnal atmosphere. Initially active in a folk register, she shifts her project toward a more electronic aesthetic as she writes tracks marked by a difficult personal period, then builds this turning point with the help of co-producer Brett Bullion. Carrellee released her first album, Scale of Dreams, in 2022 on Negative Gain Productions, which lays the foundations of a universe between coldwave, dark pop and synth chanson. From this release, Carrellee has played numerous shows in the United States, with more than 200 dates between 2022 and 2024, and has appeared at events such as Cold Waves in Chicago and Verboden in Vancouver, while opening several IAMX shows in the Midwest. In 2024 and 2025, Carrellee also joined IAMX's touring lineup as a backing vocalist and keyboardist. Her second album, New World Punx, was released in May 2025 on Young & Cold Records, with a mix largely by Maurizio Baggio and mastering by Josh Bonati, expanding her spectrum toward a tighter, more club- and front-oriented synth-pop without leaving her darkwave grounding.
