Cardopusher

Under the name Cardopusher, Venezuelan producer and DJ Luis Garbán, born in Caracas in 1981 and based in Barcelona, has developed since the early 2000s an electronic trajectory marked by several aesthetic shifts. His early work explored IDM, glitch and mashup before he moved more decisively toward breakcore from around 2006, the period when the album Hippie Killers Don’t Mind Jah Conversations was released on Peace Off. Cardopusher later broadened his palette toward club-oriented music more directly linked to techno, house and electro, while retaining a taste for jagged structures, fast rhythms and abrasive textures. His discography also includes Unity Means Power (2009) and Yr Fifteen Minutes Are Up (2011), as well as numerous EPs and remixes issued on labels such as Tigerbeat6, Hyperdub, Boysnoize Records, DVA Music and Iberian Records. In 2012, he co-founded the label Classicworks with Nehuen, continuing a practice focused on club scenes and hybrid formats. He also appears under the name Safety Trance and has performed at events such as Sónar, Monegros, Outlook and Bang Face Weekender.
