Alizée

Born in Ajaccio in 1984, Alizée first attracted attention on French television in the late 1990s before collaborating closely with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, who wrote and directed her early songs. Rooted in francophone pop with dance and variété touches, she released the album «Gourmandises» in 2000, followed by «Mes courants électriques» in 2003—projects that established a world of synthetic melodies, mid-tempo rhythms and a distinctly youthful image. She evolved her style with «Psychédélices» (2007), where the pop opened up to more electronic sounds and introspective lyrics, and with «Une enfant du siècle» (2010), inspired by art and fashion imagery and situated between electropop and a more conceptual chanson. The albums «5» (2013) and «Blonde» (2014) continued this trajectory—blending francophone pop, ’80s influences and punchier arrangements—while keeping Alizée’s soft, measured voice at the center. Spanish-language versions and tours allowed her to perform beyond France, notably in Europe and Latin America, and her participation in primetime dance shows further broadened Alizée’s public image, now divided between a musical career and longer-term artistic projects.
