Le Youth

Under the name Le Youth, American producer and DJ Wes James, originally from Toledo, Ohio and now based in Los Angeles, has been developing a personal take on house music since the early 2010s. Le Youth drew attention in 2013 with the single “C O O L,” a house track built around a sample of Cassie’s “Me & U,” then followed up in 2014 with “Dance with Me,” confirming his taste for blending club rhythms, 1990s R&B vocals, and direct pop structures. Gradually, Le Youth shifted his writing toward a more melodic and progressive house sound, marked by atmospheric pads, extended builds, and a more introspective approach to texture, while maintaining a strong vocal presence. Highly active on the international club and festival circuit, Le Youth alternates between original productions and remixes for other artists from the house and electronic spheres. This evolution crystallized on the 2022 album “Reminders,” which synthesizes this move toward a melodic sound focused on dynamic mood shifts and the interplay between tension and release. Through his successive releases, Le Youth positions himself within a continuum of R&B culture, house heritage, and contemporary currents in melodic electronic music.
