Fillas de Cassandra

Based in Vigo, Galicia, Fillas de Cassandra brings together Sara Faro and María SOA around a Galician-sung project that blends oral heritage, polyphony, percussion and electronic pop textures. The duo emerged in the early 2020s with an approach linking Galician musical tradition to contemporary songwriting, also incorporating figures from classical mythology reinterpreted from a female perspective. Fillas de Cassandra develops a concise form focused on voices, rhythm and the tension between folklore and modern production, without fitting strictly into either folk or pop. Their debut album, Acrópole (2023), clearly frames this aesthetic by articulating popular memory, symbolic narrative and songs crafted for both the stage and attentive listening. Present on concert and festival circuits first in Galicia and later across Spain, Fillas de Cassandra is part of a scene that brings regional languages and traditional repertoires into dialogue with contemporary musical forms.
