Hotel Mira

Formed in Vancouver around singer-songwriter Charlie Kerr, Hotel Mira evolves in an indie rock and alt rock register that blends direct guitars, catchy pop choruses and emotional tension inherited from garage rock. The band, now comprising Charlie Kerr, Clark Grieve, Mike Noble and Cole George, first drew attention under the name JPNSGRLS before adopting the Hotel Mira identity at the end of the 2010s, marking a shift toward more melodic writing and a fuller production. This new phase takes shape with the 2020 album Perfectionism, where Hotel Mira refines a nervy but smoother sound, between indie rock, power pop and new wave inflections. In continuation, the 2022 single Fever Pitch shows a more open approach to pop without breaking with the band's energy. Hotel Mira has worked with producers Eric Ratz and Ryan Worsley, and its tracks circulate on Canadian rock stages as well as in broader contexts, between clubs, festivals and opening acts. In Hotel Mira's journey, Charlie Kerr remains the writing core, with lyrics focused on relationships, inner discomfort and self-deprecation, carried by a performance that keeps a rock anchor even when songs open to more immediate formats.
