Edgehill

Formed in Nashville out of student gatherings at Vanderbilt University, Edgehill is a trio led by Chris Kelly on vocals and guitar, Jake Zimmermann on guitar and backing vocals, and Aidan Cunningham on drums. The members hail from different parts of the United States: Chris Kelly from Charlottesville, Virginia; Jake Zimmermann from Long Island, New York; and Aidan Cunningham from Westfield, Indiana. Edgehill’s beginnings took shape when Kelly and Zimmermann started playing together, before Cunningham joined and stabilized the lineup. The band develops a guitar-driven alternative rock sound with direct, melodic and energetic songs that sit between indie rock and tight pop-rock songwriting. They first made a name for themselves on the house-show circuit, a context that sheds light on their approach to performing — more direct than showy. Among their released tracks is 'I Can Be Your Dog', a song that extends this guitar-trio aesthetic and their immediate take on the song format.
