Sheck Wes

Between Harlem and Milwaukee, Sheck Wes’s trajectory sits at the intersection of New York culture and Senegalese heritage. Born in New York in 1998 as Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall, he grew up between the two cities before returning to Harlem, where he began rapping in his teens while also pursuing basketball and modeling. He gained attention in the late 2010s with trap‑rooted rap characterized by sparse production, heavy bass and repetitively chanted hooks that emphasize rhythm and vocal energy. The release of the single "Mo Bamba" brought him international visibility and led to signings with Cactus Jack and G.O.O.D. Music, followed by his debut album "Mudboy" in 2018, a project that established him on the American rap scene while remaining closely tied to New York. His lyrics, often direct, address everyday life, urban youth and basketball, as he continued to release singles and collaborations and briefly pursued professional basketball by joining Paris Basketball in 2020.
