Rich The Kid

Born in Queens, New York, in 1992, Rich The Kid—whose real name is Dimitri Leslie Roger—grew up in a family of Haitian descent before moving to Atlanta, where he gravitated toward the local trap scene. The rapper drew attention in the early 2010s with a series of mixtapes and repeated collaborations with Migos, which anchored him in Atlanta’s rap landscape. Rich The Kid developed a style built on melodic trap production, fast tempos, and a prominent use of ad-libs, shifting between hard-hitting rap and catchy, club-ready hooks. After several independent releases, he issued his debut studio album, The World Is Yours, in 2018, followed by The World Is Yours 2 in 2019 and Boss Man in 2020, extending this aesthetic while bringing in features from American mainstream rap. Alongside his solo career, Rich The Kid multiplied collaborations, notably with YoungBoy Never Broke Again on the joint album Nobody Safe in 2020 and with Lil Wayne on Trust Fund Babies in 2021, while developing his own label, Rich Forever Music, a platform intended to structure his work and that of artists within his orbit.
