Yulia Niko
Born in Russia and based in Berlin, Yulia Niko has been cultivating since the mid-2010s a sound that sits between house, tech house and melodic techno, marked by supple grooves, deep bass and arrangements that favour progression over effect. She emerged through a series of EPs and singles on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Watergate and Hottrax, and has since built a presence on the international club and festival circuit linked to the Berlin scene. Her aesthetic rests on a balance of dancefloor tension, airy textures and clear melodic lines, without tipping into showy production. Over her releases she has evolved from minimal, deep-oriented house toward more open forms, sometimes approaching a light, progressive techno, while keeping a compositional focus on rhythm and fluidity. Her collaborations, remixes and DJ sets continue this trajectory with a precise, nocturnal and mobile approach, designed for both the club and sustained listening.
