On March 10, 2027, Moonspell checks into Le Liberté in Rennes with the God Is A Vampire tour, conceived as a new chapter and a way to mark 35 years of darkness. The Portuguese, led by Fernando Ribeiro, remain those masters of a dark metal where the black of their early days rubbed against gothic, keyboards and thick atmospheres, without ever losing the hook of a riff. On stage, the emphasis is on the Far From God universe, carried by a crafted staging, razor-sharp lighting and immersive imagery to raise the tension, song after song.
In the opening slot, Iotunn comes to kick off the night with its Danish progressive metal with cosmic contours: long-form tracks, melodies that swell, modern energy and a taste for storytelling, in the vein of Access All Worlds. TodoMal rounds out the bill on the atmospheric doom side, for a trio of heavy visions that respond to one another without resembling one another.
