Info
On July 24, 2027, Jools Holland brings his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in Liverpool for a night built around piano drive and big-band punch. A founding member of Squeeze, Holland has spent decades pushing his own lane where rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, swing and rock’n’roll rub shoulders without getting polite. Expect his piano at the center: fast runs, tight grooves, and that old-school sense of momentum that makes the music feel physical.
Backed by his large-format Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, the show leans into bold brass lines and crisp arrangements that nod to classic big-band energy while staying grounded in club-friendly R&B. It’s the kind of set where standards and originals can sit side by side, shaped by a bandleader who knows how to keep things moving, leave room for musicianship, and turn a concert hall into something closer to a late-night dancefloor.
