Gerd

Gerd follows up her new album with her first Sweden tour in two and a half years. On September 25, Gerd releases the album More Water Than Anything, and it is now confirmed that she will also embark on a tour that starts on October 16 at Pustervik in Gothenburg and on November 14 will reach Vasateatern in Stockholm.

On the new record by the P3 Gold–winning artist, electronic, organic and orchestral interplay can coexist without being pressed into a predetermined mold. With the album More Water Than Anything, the drive and forward momentum of the music embody how creative power can overcome doubt. "It's the most personal thing I've done," says Gerd about the album. "I haven't quite dared to open that door before, and of course it's scary but also fun. It has also given the lyrics another depth."

Surrounded by forest, water and long nights on a secluded island in Värmland, she began drafting songs in parallel with a growing draw toward folklore and beings. Gradually the surroundings—the forest, the silence, the sense of something moving at the edge—left traces inside and colored both expression and content.

After great successes in recent years, with international attention, recognized for her debut single Lies for a Liar and a P3 Gold award in the category Future Artist and live performances, there came a period when creativity no longer felt self-evident. In working on the new album, it became important to return to a more intuitive way of creating. The experience of performing live before an audience has also left marks on how the songs have evolved. "I love playing live, to share the energy with others. I wanted to write songs where you can dance out everything, let go and simply be in it."
