Info
Giles Corey is the solo project of Dana Barrett, known from Have a Nice Life, in which he moves away from noise and the energy of a band to a more intimate, almost whispered form. In these tracks, slowcore blends with dark folk, ambient, and drone: slow tempos, sparing melodies, lo-fi roughness, and beneath it a long reverb and layers of noise that create the mood more than “effects.” This music acts like a confession and keeps you on edge precisely through how little it has to say outright. On January 31, 2027, in Warsaw’s Niebo, Barrett will bring material from the cult debut “Giles Corey” and its later incarnations, including a freshly refreshed, remastered version. If you like concerts where silence is as important as the sound, and emotions are not amplified but unveiled piece by piece, then this will be the evening.
