Info

When the history of Svart Ridå is written someday, 2026 will stand out as the year the band played itself to an ever-growing audience. Hundreds of miles on tour, city by city and listener by listener, with a performance at Way Out West in Gothenburg as the crowning jewel. Nöjesfabriken in Karlstad presents a date with the band on March 6.

Now, while awaiting the third studio album—the follow-up to the breakthrough Aponia from 2025—Svart Ridå releases the single The Brink of Ruin on October 9 via Playground Music. Here the band sounds rougher and harder than before, without losing any of what has become their signature: explosive, immediate choruses that stick right away. In connection with the single release, an 18-date tour across Sweden, Denmark and Norway is announced, with the opening show in Huskvarna on January 29, 2027.

"We wrote The Brink of Ruin out of frustration with how our world looks today. The privileged person is so good at caring for themselves and their own small problems but forgets that there are actually those who have hardly anything at all, no security to lean on. People live in war and ruin, are not accepted for who they are, and we go on here at home, pretending as if nothing is happening. We continue to live in the Swedish idyll that isn't as bright as you might think when you think about it. The Brink of Ruin reveals the nature of the selfish human. It is a song that wants to wake us up in some way from the denial we find ourselves in and make us think twice. The world stands on the brink of ruin if we continue like this; we cannot turn a blind eye to it."

"Since their debut in 2022, Svart Ridå has released two studio albums and, in a short time, established themselves as one of the most prominent and genre-defining bands in the new wave of Swedish indie rock. The past few years have, among other things, resulted in a triple GAFFA Award win, a TV debut in Musikhjälpen, a rendition of Kent's Om du var här in Spotify's Singles series, and two nominations for Manifest Gala."}]} }|} }|} }|} }|} }|} }|}
