Hurula
Born in Luleå in 1979, Hans Robert Hurula Pettersson first built his path in the Swedish punk and hardcore scene as part of Masshysteri, The Vicious, Regulations and The Dead Ones, before opening a solo chapter under the name Hurula from 2014. Hurula preserves the frontal energy of his previous bands but places it within rock sung in Swedish, where melodic punk, post‑punk, tense guitars and more direct songwriting meet—often marked by personal narratives and bleak social realism. His debut album, Vi är människorna våra föräldrar varnade oss för, was released in 2014, followed by the EP Betongbarn the same year, then Vapen till dom hopplösa in 2016 and the EP Oss är allt in 2018. Hurula continued with Klass (2019), Jehova (2020), the live album På en grusbelagd parkeringsplats (2021), Ingen är kär i år och andra sånger (2022) and Existens (2025). Alongside his discography, Hurula remains tied to various Swedish rock scenes, appears in several related projects and occasionally collaborates with other artists, while developing a solo trajectory centered on a raw, melodic and unvarnished expression.
