On February 17, 2027, Pauline Croze will come to the Salle Jean Carmet in Allonnes to present Jour se lève, her seventh album, conceived as a fresh start after twenty years of songs. Written and composed with Adrien Daucé, nourished by the back-and-forth between London and France, this record goes straight to the essentials: a sensitive pop, spare arrangements, plenty of air between the notes, and that supple voice that carries emotion without overdoing it.
On stage, one finds the spirit of these ten tracks with soft textures, where silences count as much as melodies. Croze embraces a newfound freedom by producing her songs on her own label, and broadens her sonic landscape with soul echoes, folk and more modern touches. Influences surface without taking over, and a cover of Alain Bashung is included in the set. The track Jour se lève, which closes the album with the voice of Mathieu Amalric, sets the tone: lucid, intimate, in motion.
