Info
On November 15, 2026, Antti Paalanen lands at Crossroad in Angoulins, with his favorite playground: the diatonic accordion, pushed far beyond the norms. Nourished by traditional Finnish music yet anchored in a decidedly contemporary approach, he builds on stage pieces where pulse and repetition escalate the tension, between drones, tight motifs, and hyper-physical bellows work.
As much a composer as an instrumentalist, he has developed a writing centered on the bellows' rhythm, and you can hear it: his sets resemble a minimalist folk trance, sometimes spare, sometimes rougher, with the voice striking the accordion rather than caressing it. From Äärelä to Rujo, his trajectory sketches a music of substance and rhythm, tailored for live performance and the energy of the moment.
