On March 16, 2027, Alcest lands at The Brook in Southampton with that singular sound that sits between metal intensity and hazy, dreamlike textures. Built around multi-instrumentalist Stéphane “Neige” Paut and, on stage, drummer Winterhalter, the French project has shaped its own lane over the years: blasts and distant screams rubbing shoulders with clean vocals, saturated guitars and near-ambient calm.
From early turning points like Le Secret through the landmark albums Souvenirs d’un autre monde and Écailles de Lune, Alcest has kept pushing the balance between melody and darkness, later opening wider onto shoegaze shades on Shelter, then sharpening contrasts again on Kodama and Spiritual Instinct. More recently, Les Chants de l’aurore (2024) leans into that melancholic yet bright register. Expect a set that moves in waves, where heaviness and softness keep trading places.
