Nouvelle Vague is a Paris-based collective led by Marc Collin, who for years has been playing with the classics of the new wave, passing them through a filter of bossa nova and light, acoustic-pop elegance. On 30 January 2027, at Warsaw's Proxima, they will perform material from their new album 'A Date with Depeche Mode', recorded between Rio de Janeiro and Paris. This marks the first installment of a planned release series: this time the band takes on Depeche Mode exclusively, reworking their songs into their soft, swaying version, in which the varying voices of invited female and male vocalists again play an important role. Among the announced tracks is, among others, 'Enjoy the Silence' in a duet by Skye Edwards and Larry Love.
The concert will open with Hedone from Łódź — a group active on the scene since the early 1990s, always a little outside genre labels. After a longer hiatus they returned with the album '2020', and later showed another facet on the album '600 Years of Loneliness' with Polish-language material about the passing of time, maturity, and life's reckonings. On 30 January 2027 at Proxima, Hedone will bring a cross-section of that period and the energy of the current lineup, before we hear their next releases.
