If you’re into blues rock with nerve and a touch of folk, Kaleo lands in Barcelona on March 15, 2027 at the Sala Razzmatazz with their “Way Down We Go Tour.” The Icelandic band, formed near Reykjavik, has built its sound between American roots and rock energy, playing with contrasts: electric riffs that bite and more naked acoustic passages, always with the voice very much at the forefront of Jökull “JJ Julius Son” Júlíusson.
After a first album released in Iceland, the group settled in the United States and refined that blend of alternative rock, blues pulse and direct melodies. With A/B they made the international leap, chaining tense tracks and others more contained, and on Surface Sounds they broadened the palette with more atmospheric moods without losing the nerve. Live, Kaleo tends to move right there: intensity, dynamics and songs that go from a punch to a whisper without asking for permission.
