Info
Michael Schenker Group in concert on November 10, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Stereolux, Nantes. Michael Schenker is a rock figure, known for his precise, melodic playing and his use of the Gibson Flying V guitar. He has left a mark on the history of hard rock.
His work with Scorpions, UFO and the Michael Schenker Group has inspired generations of musicians, including Steve Harris, Kirk Hammett and Slash. A founding member of Scorpions alongside his brother Rudolf Schenker, he showcased his talent early on with the album Lonesome Crow. In 1973 he joined UFO, with whom he experienced a defining period between 1974 and 1978, often called the “Schenker era.” During that time he contributed to albums such as Phenomenon and Lights Out, as well as the live album Strangers in the Night, frequently cited as a genre classic. He also co-wrote songs like “Doctor Doctor,” “Rock Bottom” and “Only You Can Rock Me.”
He left UFO in early 1979, just before the release of Strangers in the Night, then briefly rejoined Scorpions, contributing to the album Lovedrive. Tracks like “Another Piece of Meat,” “Coast to Coast” and “Holiday” attest to his input. In 1979 he founded the Michael Schenker Group (MSG), opening a new chapter in his career.
After several ups and downs, Michael returned in 2010 with the 30th Anniversary Tour. He also released the live album 30th Anniversary – Shepherd's Bush Empire, which charted at No. 81 in Germany. For more than 15 years he has been performing on stages around the world. The group released the album Immortal in 2021, followed by Universal in 2022, and the studio album Don't Sell Your Soul was released on October 3, 2025.
