Jim Ghedi plays MOTH Club on 22 September 2026 at 6:30 pm. He hails from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and is well versed in the history of folk music, blending tradition with experimental approaches.
His album Wasteland, released in March 2025 on the Basin Rock label, explores a darker, more electronic sound reflected in his lyrics and singing. He draws from social observations, contemporary songwriting, and historical and traditional material.
He also composed his first film soundtrack for A24’s thriller The Death of Robin Hood, directed by Michael Sarnoski, released in June 2026, starring Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, and Bill Skarsgård.
Over the years, Ghedi has performed headline tours and festivals across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, and has supported and toured with Lankum, Stick in the Wheel, Richard Dawson, Martin Carthy, and Shirley Collins.
