Syd Matters

Syd Matters, the project of Jonathan Morali, will be at l’Atabal in Biarritz on 31 October 2026. Since End & Start Again, his warm voice and melodies that seem to come from another time have shaped an intimate folk with misty arrangements. On stage, Morali and his musicians play with nuance: between breadth and fragility, velvety guitars, drifting keyboards and understated backing vocals create a gentle, almost cinematic tension.

Black & White Eyes, Obstacles, To All Of You and I Might Float accompanied a generation, and may be joined by other songs, stripped back or rearranged. Alongside his albums, Morali has composed for theatre, film, animation and video games, notably for Life Is Strange, an experience that broadened his palette without diluting his identity. In concert, this is reflected in the care given to atmospheres and details, a melodic thread that breathes and makes room for feeling. A moment to dive back into Syd Matters’ singular world, between haunted folk and textures that take their time.
